Service. Education. Scientific Rigor.

In 2019, we founded Health DesignED: The Acute Care + Innovation Center at Emory to bring ease to the illness experience and create equity in healthcare.

In early 2020, our team partnered with medical software team Vital to launch a virtual triage website for COVID-19: C19check.com.

Our Purpose

“Innovation” in healthcare too often occurs external to the people and systems that it intends to impact. Using design thinking approach, real innovation starts with understanding and engaging with the clinical environment, socio-cultural structures, and communities of providers, patients, and families we aim to care for.

Why focus on acute care delivery?

Emergency departments are a place of natural intersection for a wide range of medical specialities, community resources (social workers, financial advisors, community programs, case managers) and diverse patient populations. This is why they have always been a hotbed of innovation. Moreover, the speciality of emergency medicine thrives on clinician-innovators who are trained to adapt to medical emergencies and who create inherently agile systems
